Vice Chancellor for Research
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) is conducting a search for Vice Chancellor for Research. Reporting to
the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor for Research is the chief research officer of the university and also works to
promote research activities in collaboration with Oak Ridge National Laboratory through UT-Battelle, LLC and other
research and development institutions in the region.

and chronic disease prevention, physical activity across the lifespan, behavior change,

Center for Intercultural and
International Programs (CIIP)
Xavier University of Louisiana seeks a visionary and dynamic
leader to serve as the University’s Chief International Officer and
Director of its Center for Intercultural and International Programs
(CIIP). This position is a full-time, 12-month appointment that
coordinates all academic and administrative elements concerning
international students, faculty, and international programs at
Xavier.
Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s Degree with at least three
years of administrative experience in international programs. The
candidate must also demonstrate an understanding of the value
and significance of cultural awareness and international study with
respect to student success and development.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in a related field with at least five
years administrative experience in international programming and/
or student support services. The successful candidate should be
proficient in a foreign language and have some experience living or
working abroad. This position calls for a significant and successful
record of leadership, ideally in an academic or research context.
The CIIP Director should be available for frequent national and
international travel.

The Director of Assessment will be instrumental in developing
a campus-wide culture of assessment that seeks to promote an
understanding of what and how students learn, so that both
individuals and the institution will have clear evidence suggesting
how they might improve, both for intrinsic educational benefits
using continuous quality improvement and for purposes of
accreditation.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have at least a Master’s degree
in educational research, higher education, or related field.
Candidates must have significant experience working with
academic data, including the development, application and
reporting of quantitative and qualitative methods of assessment
and evaluation; broad familiarity with statistical and data analysis
software; familiarity with ABET engineering accreditation
assessment processes; expertise in the principles and practices
of assessing and reporting research findings on student learning;
outstanding communication and organizational skills; and
experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired Additional Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a doctoral degree; experience
in consulting and assisting faculty in developing and sustaining
programs of outcomes assessment; and postsecondary teaching
experience.

full-time Start Date: August 22, 2011. Duties: A teaching load of eight credit hours
per semester will include the opportunity
to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including directing M.A. theses.

teach a broad survey of American literature,
as well as intermediate and advanced courses in American literature and topics courses
