COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
San Diego State University is seeking an innovative and energetic academic leader to serve as Dean
of the College of Business Administration for a highly dynamic, major university. The College
of Business Administration consists of the Charles W. Lamden School of Accountancy and the
Departments of Finance, Management Information Systems, Management, and Marketing, as
well as the Entrepreneurial Management Center, the Center for International Business Education
and Research (administered with the College of Arts and Letters), the Corporate Governance
Institute, The Centre for Integrated Marketing Communications and the Corky McMillin
Center for Real Estate. The College offers seven undergraduate degree programs, five master’s
degree programs, an Executive MBA and a Sports MBA Program. It serves approximately 4,000
undergraduate students and 600 graduate students. The College of Business Administration is
accredited at both the undergraduate and graduate levels by the AACSB. The Lamden School

The Dean of the College of Business Administration reports to the Provost of the University and
is the chief administrative officer of the College and a member of the Academic Deans Council.
The Dean is responsible for guiding, directing and overseeing the educational programs, for
providing leadership for the educational and professional missions of the College, for supervising
the personnel procedures of its faculty and staff, for securing resources, for representing and
promoting the College with external constituents, and for preparing and administering the budget
of the College of Business Administration.

Qualifications: Minimum of ten years of academic and/or managerial experience with evidence
of significant achievements in at least one of the professional areas represented in the College of
Business Administration. Ability to undertake significant fund raising and other development
activities and foster private partnerships with San Diego’s vibrant business community is essential.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, ability to promote collegiality and build consensus.
Ability to promote and achieve a visionary set of goals for the College and to expand the College’s
international interests. An appreciation of diversity and working effectively in a multicultural
campus and community setting. Doctoral level degree preferred.
