Detailed Description
As Coordinator of Library Instruction, this librarian will coordinate and provide leadership for the library instruction program
and serve as the point person in the areas of learning and teaching, pedagogical techniques, and technology as it relates
to information literacy. Essential tasks may include developing instructional materials and designing and implementing an
assessment program of information literacy. Outreach to faculty is essential to this position.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ALA accredited MLS is required. Must possess excellent speaking, writing, and teaching
skills, familiarity with new technologies, as well as be able to work individually and as a team member and be able to work
on cross-organization collaborative projects. Working knowledge of SPSS or ability to learn software required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience as an Education Librarian Liaison. A bachelor’s or advanced degree in a
field related to this position’s responsibilities. Professional involvement at the local and national levels.
Salary
Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience. Librarians in Copley Library have faculty
appointments and must demonstrate excellence in librarianship, research, and service and otherwise meet
reappointment, promotion, and tenure criteria. This is a 12-month tenure-track library faculty position.

Educational Research: Assistant Director of
Education and Research, Massachusetts In-
stitute of Technology. The MI T and Masdar
Institute Cooperative Program seeks an As-
sistant Director of Education and Research
to work closely with MIT and Masdar Insti-
tute (MI) faculty to: Implement and man-
age the educational vision of the Coopera-
tive Agreement with regard to the educa-
tion service structure; Foster and support
the creation and implementation of gradu-
ate education programs and courses as de-
fined by the Joint Steering Committee of the
Cooperative Program; Develop and imple-
ment educational exchange programs be-
tween MIT and Masdar; Offer a portfolio
of at least three additional Master of Sci-
ence programs; Establish tracks within the

The faculty selected will participate in teaching first- and second-year osteopathic medical
students as well as assist in longitudinal educational programs for third-and fourth-year students.
The selected faculty members will also be expected to initiate and maintain a productive research
or other scholarly academic program.
