The Department of Science, Technology, Engineering, &
Mathematics Education at NC State University seeks an
innovative, influential department head with a strong vision of
science, technology, engineering, & mathematics education in
the 21st century. The STEM Ed. Department Head reports to the
Dean of the College and is responsible for the administration of
the department. He or she provides leadership in support of
faculty research, teaching, and service efforts; recruits, hires, and
supervises faculty and staff; manages departmental budgets; and
promotes the department through representation in college,
university, and external strategic initiatives. She or he may also
engage in research, teaching, publication, externally funded
projects, and other professional activities.
Candidates should possess a doctorate in mathematics education,
science education, technology education or a closely related field.
Experience in teacher education, K-12 schools and outreach,
funding agencies, and university administration is desirable.

United States Air Force Academy. Quantitative Reasoning Center Faculty
and Assistant Professor of Physics (#13-27DFR). The Office of Student
Academic Affairs and Academy Registrar invites applications for the position of
Quantitative Reasoning Center Faculty and Assistant Professor of Physics. One or
two positions will be filled. The anticipated start date is August 25th, 2013. The
initial appointment will be for three years. Successive reappointments of up to four
years are possible. The Center’s mission is to provide supplemental instruction in
select core academic disciplines in one-on-one and small group settings to enhance
student learning and motivation. The incumbent will also teach undergraduate
core courses in physics, including the accompanying laboratory and tutorial duties.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will qualify for an academic appointment
as an Assistant Professor of Physics. This appointment requires a Ph.D. in Physics,
Astronomy, or a closely related field. Work experience in a Quantitative Reasoning
Center and/or the demonstrated ability to provide supplemental instruction in more

is conducting a search for a tenured professor in the history of
medicine and its allied fields. We are particularly interested in
candidates who work in global contexts and will complement and

Accounting: Albright College, Degree Com-
pletion Program, Full-time Accounting Co-

Albright College is seeking a full-time fac-
ulty member for the Accounting Degree
Completion Program (DCP) Coordinator
position. The Coordinator instructs a va-
riety of accounting courses in the program
and performs academic related administra-
tive duties (such as staffing classes, hiring
adjuncts, and evaluating program content).
The DCP is an accelerated baccalaureate
program. Student cohorts meet once weekly
in the evening, completing the major portion
of the program in approximately 24 months.
DCP is designed for adult students with at
least two years of college experience and five
years of work experience (see http:// www.al-
bright.edu/accelerated). Candidates must
possess a master’s level degree in a busi-
ness related field. Ten plus years experience
in an accounting position, a CPA and prior
experience teaching adult students is highly
desirable. Candidates should be willing to
teach at all of Albright’s eight program lo-
cations in southeastern Pennsylvania; base
site is flexible. There may be opportunities
to teach in Albright’s traditional accounting
