Advancement
American International College (AIC) invites applications and nominations for the position of
Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
AIC is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on a 60+ acre campus in
Springfield, Massachusetts. Founded in 1885, the College has 3500 graduate and
undergraduate students. AIC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through
the Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences, Health Sciences, and Graduate and Adult
Education. The mission of the College is to transform student lives through career focused
learning, with a strong foundation in the liberal arts, a commitment to serving the community and
a high level of involvement in the global economy.
Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Institutional Advancement is AIC’s
chief advancement officer and has executive responsibility for the planning and execution of all
the College's advancement activities.
The Vice President will be a dynamic and experienced development professional who: has a
proven track record of success in fundraising and constituent relations, preferably in a college or
university setting; is an experienced manager and leader; is an excellent communicator; knows
best practices in advancement; and holds a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited
institution, with an advanced degree preferred. Opportunities for the Vice President include:
significantly increasing the institution’s endowment; identifying and cultivating new major donors;
planning and conducting a comprehensive campaign, and being a visible and dynamic leader
both locally and nationally.

Minimum Requirements: a record of progressive responsibilities in leadership, online and traditional
academic administration, and more than 7 years of teaching in online and traditional environments.
Doctorate is required.
